It appears a few bugs crept into the card generator and that meant users couldn’t edit or copy cards. The bug has been successfully removed.

New Functionality

September 14, 2016

I’ve made a few more changes to the card generator, not only can you add images to more card types (Monster and Treasure) you can now download the cards as PDF files (with back covers). That means no more guessing what size to print at, just make sure you uncheck “fit to page”.

In addition I’ve now given people the opportunity to login to the site, what this means is the cards you create are then stored in the site and can be accessed/edited at a later date. As well as the cards being stored you can choose to make the card Public (set to Public by default). The public cards will appear in a gallery, people can download the cards or make copies and amend them.

If you want to see your cards there is an option in the navigation “Your Cards”.

Warhammer Quest

September 4, 2016

Good news! The card generators have had an overhaul. They now produce cards at twice the previous resolution, the monster events cards now support images as do the treasure cards.

Another improvement is that cards produced are now available as PDF files with crop and registration marks (because paper/card doesn’t always feed straight). If you’re using the PDFs please remember to turn off scaling/fit to page (otherwise they’ll be the wrong size).

I’ve not had a chance to play the new version yet so I don’t know what it’s like. If there are cards or tokens that you would like custom version for let me know, send me a scan of what you would like a new version of (scan at 300dpi…front and back would be great….the restrictions allowing “GW” may not be allowing designs to be duplicated…which would be a pity).

I’ve been working amending the card generator so it produces higher resolution cards (300dpi up from 150). The cards looks much better, I’ve also included the back of the cards too. I’m working on adding image support for both the monster event cards and treasure cards.

The updated room card.

Magic Cards

January 30, 2016

I’ve had a request to amend the functionality of the magic cards. You can now set the “Type” text independently of the colour. This means the magic cards are now multilingual.

The card builders are back up and running, sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Lazy Sunday

June 12, 2011

Today has been kind of a lazy day so I’ve got a couple of things out the way.

First off you’ve probably noticed the re-styling of the site. Feel free to let me know what you think.

Secondly; I’ve added 4 more Warhammer Quest card makers, Magic Cards, Monster Events Cards, Unexpected Event Cards and Treasure Cards. Again let me know what you think.

New Warhammer Quest Tool

December 16, 2010

I don’t know if there is much demand for customised Warhamer Quest dungeon cards, but I’ve created an online tool that allows you to create new dungeon cards. Just find the file you want to appear on the card, fill in the title, room description, any special information and room type and click upload.

Create your own dungeon card

If you find the tool useful let me know and I’ll look at making a tool for creating magic and event cards too.

I’ve searched long and hard for a dungeon card to go with the dwarven anvil/forge that appeared in White Dwarf 200. In the end I though what the hey I’ll just make one instead. Below is my effort.

As for rules well I haven’t given that much thought but here are a few ideas.

  • The anvil is magically and imbues weapons made using it with random properties.
  • The monsters that start in the room are all armed with magically imbued weapons, but the magic is weak and fades quickly (so you don’t get lots of magical equipment from it).
  • Perhaps all the monsters in this dungeon cause more damage than normal because of their magical weapons.
  • You could involve the lava but frankly if you’re an adventurer you’re survived this long you’re probably not going to stand in the hot stuff.
  • Perhaps one of the party has foolishly put on a magical bracelet that will kill him if he can’t take it off and the only way is the break it on the anvil.
  • Maybe the smith that ran the forge before the evil orcs arrived left behind his magic smithing hammer, or the anvil is magical and has to be carried out, the adventurer carrying the anvil moves slower, half speed perhaps or 1d3 spaces, (you have to get out the way you came in, or maybe there is an escape tunnel?)

Any comments or suggestions let me know.

High Resolution version of the Dwarven Forge/Anvil

High Resolution version of the Dwarven Forge/Anvil

When I started work on this card I decided it would be a good idea to put together a tool so people could make up their own cards. To that end I created the Dungeon Card Maker, just enter a few details and upload a layout and there you have it, just download the new card, print it own and stick it to some card (some cheap playing cards will do, right thickness and shape).
